On the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya, permission has been given to sell firecrackers like Diwali in Lucknow. It has been decided that the number of firecracker shops will be very limited. The estimated number could be 200. Shopkeepers willing to sell firecrackers can collect application forms from JCP Law and Order office from January 12 to January 14. The date for submission of these application forms has been kept from January 12 to January 15. After this it will be decided how many firecracker shops can be set up and at which places.
Fire Works Dealers Welfare Association had met JCP Law and Order Upendra Kumar Aggarwal and asked him to grant license for the sale of firecrackers. He said that people will burst fireworks on this day. For this, permission should be given to sell firecrackers as per rules. According to JCP, on the request of the association, it has been decided that application forms will be available for three days from their office located near Daliganj bridge (near Nakshatrashala) and they can be submitted for four days.
Firecrackers can be sold for a maximum of three days
JCP said that no decision has been taken yet on how many days the firecrackers can be sold. The association has sought permission to sell firecrackers for three days from January 20 to 22. Based on the number of applications, it will be decided for how many days permission will be given to sell firecrackers. However, sales will be allowed for at least two days. This can be extended by one day depending on the number of applications.
200 shops will be decorated
The association has told JCP that not more than 200 people will apply. This number may also be less than this. If so many applications come then almost all these applicants will be given license to sell firecrackers. The same standards for setting up firecracker shops on Diwali will be applicable here also.
