After purportedly leaking the teaser on social networking site X, Rockstar Games eventually unveiled the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer on Tuesday, many hours ahead of schedule. As was to be expected, the trailer swiftly gained popularity on YouTube, receiving over 11 million views in the two hours after it was uploaded to the official Rockstar Games channel.
Many of the rumors that have been circulating about the open-world game GTA 6 are confirmed by the clip, and Rockstar Games later released a press statement stating that the game would launch in 2025 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. On the other hand, there was no word on if or when the game will be released for PC.

After a clip leaked on X (previously Twitter), Rockstar Games eventually unveiled the official GTA 6 trailer today, hours ahead of time. 64 million people have viewed the clip since it went viral 14 hours ago! It has now been officially revealed that the much-awaited Grand Theft Auto game will launch in 2025. The wait will be worthwhile!

The highly anticipated gameplay and map of the new game, which were teased in a gameplay video for GTA 6 that went viral on TikTok, drove the gaming world into a frenzy immediately after the trailer leak.

The first female protagonist in the GTA series, Lucia, is first shown in the trailer at the beginning and is seen in a jail. Later in the video, Vice City heists in the vein of Bonnie and Clyde are seen being carried out by Lucia and her partner.

“Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet,” stated Rockstar Games in a release on Grand Theft Auto 6.

More intriguing, though, is the quantity of views that the initial GTA 6 clip has received on YouTube. It has received over 64 million views in only 14 hours. You should be aware that within 24 hours of its release, BTS’s Dynamite music video amassed an incredible 101 million views on YouTube, shattering the record for the most views in a single day. Can this record be broken by the GTA 6 trailer?
After 10 years of development, the game’s trailer did not dissapoint! The first female protagonist of the Grand Theft Auto series will be featured in a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired plot point, as the teaser for GTA 6 revealed. Luckily for us, the GTA 6 teaser showcases swift vehicles and careless shooting—all under Vice City.
